Avoter in Guilfrord County, attempting to take advantage of early voting in North Carolina, told the News-Record that the voting machine he used repeatedly switched his vote for a Democrat to a vote for her Republican opponent.

Percy Bostick, 69, of Greensboro said he tried casting a vote for Democrat Kay Hagan — who is locked in a tight battle with her GOP opponent — however the machine, located in the Old Guilford County Courthouse — assigned his vote to Republican Thom Tillis.

“I called one of the poll workers over,” Bostick explained. “She said do it again. And again, I touched the screen at the proper place for Kay Hagan, and it again reported it for Thom Tillis.”

According to Bostick, the machine finally recorded his vote for Hagan on the fourth attempt.

A poll worker then stepped in and cancelled Bostick’s ballot altogether and directed him to another machine which registered his vote correctly. The problematic machine was taken out of service.

On Wednesday a voter using a machine at the Craft Recreation Center in Greensboro experienced the same problem with their vote going to Tillis.

According to Guilford County elections director, Charlie Collicut, his office has received 14 reports of voting problems since early voting started Oct. 23, including seven from people who grew concerned after they got home.

Collicut urged voters to check their vote against the paper roll next to the screen to ensure that the machine properly registered their selections. He also advised voters to report any problems to poll workers immediately.

The Hagan/Tills race is expected to be one of the most costly races for a Senate seat ever, with campaign spending expected to exceed $100 million.

Dude, get a hobby, something..as you have no political perspective or honest insight..if this machine did this, or someone specifically was in charge of this machine, they should be fired or jailed..now, if you think Republicans are running a vast voter fraud effort well, God help you; Voter ID, how could anyone be against it? Betting you think it's another racist ploy like Mary does..you're trolling brah

Was this supposed to be a gotcha? If there was fraud someone should be in jail.

See how intellectual honesty works

Sounds like they should have spent it on better voting machines.

The same thing is happening the other way, too - Republican votes changed to Democrat.

Must be a nationwide conspiracy to confuse people about who is running the nationwide conspiracies these days?

Electronic voting machines are awesome, aren't they?

Its quite interesting how different the responses are to the topic - "voting machine changes votes" depending on who the votes are changing to.

The voter suppresion strategy utilized by Republicans in many states has little to do with supposed voter fraud. It has to do with using the apparatus of government to try to make it harder to vote in general and especially among groups that tend to vote Democratic often. Several officials at the state and local level have admitted as much.

It is amusing to hear continued suggestions from some that it is all about curbing widepread voting fraud. And the RightWing Press continues to try to manufacture expamples of voting fraud that could be curbed by voter ID or by limiting early voting or having fewer voting polls in some places.

Perhaps someone should ask the Sec of State in Georgia about how to curb voter fraud since his office seems to have committed so much of it lately "losing" over 40K voter applications.

So much misinformation in one post. I really do wonder how people can be as gullible as you. Confirmation bias, I suppose.

The dems and this voter id opposition is so patronizing and insulting to minorities. I am not too dumb to figure out how to get an id just because I am Mexican. Bigot.
