The more likely tiebreaker scenarios make an Auburn win advantageous.

We need Auburn to lose more than Ole Miss since they hold a tiebreaker over us.

If this were to happen, all that would need to happen for LSU to go to Atlanta is:

LSU wins out
Auburn loses to Georgia
Ole Miss beats State
Alabama beats State
Alabama beats Auburn

That would put LSU at 10-2 with tiebreakers over Ole Miss (10-2) and Alabama (10-2)
Auburn at 9-3
Miss State 9-3

Oh and A&M at 6-6 (or 7-5 with a win over Mizzou)
and Arkansas at 5-7 (or 6-6 with a win over Mizzou)

LSU goes to Atlanta to beat 11-1 Georgia and possibly punch a ticket to the playoffs.

As and old skule Tiger fan it grates to pull for Ole Mrs at any time, but if you're looking at something to change the national perception of LSU, an OM victory today would go a long way toward mitigating the leftover taint of the Auburn debacle on the Plains. It's such a long shot for the Tigers to win the west either way, the perception change may be more important than picking your hated rival to win a game. I know there's some saying Auburn will lose to both UGA and 'Bama on the road but that's fifty-fifty at best. It's not likely that MSU loses three times anyway, so delusions of grandeur are pretty much the Tiger's West dreams this season.

0le Miss was beaten up so badly by the Tigers last week. They are tired and sore.This is the 2nd week in a row that they will be eaten by tigers.

If Ms. State loses today's game we have a shot. Being that they still have to play Ole Miss and Alabama. Auburn also has to lose to Ole Miss and Alabama. LSU wins out puts us with only 2 Losses. Ms. State has 3. Auburn has 3. Long shot but still alive.
