Having to plan everything in advance of a Disney World trip

Disney is basically forcing its visitors to plan every detail months in advance. This includes meals (6 months out), which park on which day (extra magic hours), and now even the rides with FastPass+ (60 days out for resort guests). Ugh!
Now for the point of this. :pagingLSUFan4444:
I'm going during a very slow time of year for the parks in mid-January. I'm wondering if it's even worth it to use all 3 FastPasses on rides. Why not secure a spot for fireworks so I don't have to get there early? There's a good chance I'll be able to ride everything without having to wait longer than 20 minutes in standby. Nov. 8th is when I need to decide. Large group: 7 adults and a toddler.

I can't help with your question, but I'll comment that planning it all ahead of time is just amazing and makes your vacation easy. Its really the only way to do disney.

Disney is the perfect place for this group. I'm being completely serious.

That's when we went last year. Short lines and small crowds - not bad at all. Lots of hot Brazilian women in yoga pants at that time of year...
Two years before, we went during Thanksgiving
Frik that, never again...

I'm a planner. I like to know where I'm going when. But picking ride times 2 months ahead is overboard for me.

We've been during his time before. Usually nice temps and always small crowds. I'm prepared for the Brazilian tour groups.

You barely have to plan at that time. Get your meals decided on. Get hoppers. Get FP for backup in case the line is expectedly long.
Drink around the world. Enjoy

Went with a large group once. Can't ever please everybody.

Meals have been booked since July. Tickets and memory maker are connected to our magic bands. Flight booked. Magical express booked. Harmony barber shop for the toddler. Keys to the kingdom tour for the adults. FP+ is the last thing and I just want to get the most out of it.

You will be glad that you did all that planning.

You will need lots of drugs.
I've been nearly 30 times and that week was insane. Of course Pleasure Island was ROARING then so that helped

I have a buddy that makes a pretty good living planning Disney trips for people. I was shocked.
And yes. I know how cool this story is. Bro.

Eli, you are doing great. I'm a compulsive Disney over planner and 1/2 my fun is the planning and the other 1/2 is the execution where everybody else thinks the trip was a breeze.
FP are just icing on the cake at this point. An easy way to get the group together before everyone scatters to their own fun.

It's a ten day trip. Came out to 16 food reservations. CRT is out for refurb though. Only one we missed on.

Disney world sounds like a fricking nightmare nowadays.

It's worth it still IMO. I've never had a bad trip and I've been around 15 times. And it has always been a different experience whether it's me doing things for the first time or getting to be a part of others' first experiences.

The fast pass place for the fireworks is, IMO, too close to the castle and the structure will block out a lot of the show.
