St. Bernard Sheriff Jimmy Pohlmann said the office received information that Jones was headed to St. Bernard driving a Dodge Neon with Michigan plates.

Somebody that knew he was in Louisiana snitched. Is there a searchable website to find out if there was any reward money being offered for him?

Either that or they were doing that thing where they are harder on out of town folks than the locals... Run their tags first.

I don't mind. My LA DL has gotten me out of trouble with my TX plates many times.

When I got my Texas license they didn't ask for my Louisiana license. I kept both for a couple of years. I got stopped in Bossier City on my way back to Dallas & accidentally pulled them both out. The state trooper asked which state I lived in. I stammered about having a house in one place & an apartment in the other. She just stopped me mid-sentence and asked, 'Where do you live?"

When I told her Texas, she told me to give her my Louisiana license. I had Louisiana tags & inspection sticker still too. She didn't give me a ticket for that but a Dallas cop did not long after that. At that point I got legal in every way. Took some of the thrill out of crossing state lines & such.

Best one was a seatbelt ticket I got instead of speeding.

"Ma'am... were you wearing your seatbelt when I pulled you over?"

"Yes. Of course."

Repeats question.

"no sir. I'm sorry."

Seatbelt ticket.

My favorite part of the story:

"Authorities said they weren't sure whether the costume, which included bee's wings and a hat, was intended for Jones or whether he purchased it for someone else."

What does this have to do with anything?

I think the "I got busted cuz I wanted to be a bumblebee" angle is awesome.
