It's upsetting because I know millions of people will actually believe this shite. They seem to have ignored a few details, and of course, as always, reality.

The authorities have to contend with the trial by mob mentality, so they are probably taking longer trying to figure out how to come to the right decision without having the animals burn the town down.

That guy was on video brandishing a weapon the police had no reason to believe wasn't more deadly, and he was shooting people with it, and he was clearly fricking nuts. Not much investigation is necessary when the whole incident is on tape.
The same would be the case here, one way or another, if the shooting was on video. It wasn't, ergo, long investigative period.
And of course, there is an angry, bloodthirsty mob involved in this situation. That changes things a lot as well.
