Byron Bell is out with a knee injury he sustained in Carolina’s 13-9 loss at home to Seattle on Sunday, and he will cede his spot protecting the blind side of quarterback Cam Newton to Canadian rookie David Foucault, the Panthers announced.

The duties of right guard Trai Turner — the rookie third-round draft selection and former LSU Tiger who started in three games for the Panthers before he hurt a knee in a loss at Green Bay on Oct. 19 — will be assumed by veteran Fernando Velasco.

And the responsibilities of left guard Amini Silatolu, who opened the year as the starter until straining a calf in a tie against Cincinnati on Oct. 12, will be shouldered by undrafted rookie Andrew Norwell.

#saints rule out RB Pierre Thomas, LB David Hawthorne and FB Austin Johnson.

Damn, their fans hated Byron Bell when he played.

How bad is his back up?

Even though I'm optimistic, you can't expect anything but this until they show otherwise.

What's the word on Robinson? Did he practice? I see he hasn't been ruled out.

Not having Hawthorne will hurt. He has been playing out his mind lately.

If we're gonna win on the road, this game is it and is ripe for the pickings for the Saints.

Bell is a UDFA that hasnt really played. that match up should be heavily in our favor.

their entire line is banged up. Thursday games suck but we are much healthier than them at this point.
