I have a table recording phone calls made called Call Log. Each phone call has a result (callResult). A record (PartID) is considered complete when callresult=6. I am trying to write a query that can tell me the average number of calls it takes to complete the record.

Any help? Thanks!

Update: Ok. Figured that out. Was easier than I thought. I was trying to make it way more complicated.

New Issue: There can be more calls after the callresult=6 but I don't want to count them. What can I do?

Need more info. Do you have date/time column? Does the call result change?

Yes. There is a column for Call Date and Call Time.

Call result has choices from 1 to 6. Examples are "Left a voicemail" or "No voicemail." 6 means they completed the survey. Tricky part is there can be some more calls after completing the survery, for example, quality assurance. I don't want to count those.

People still use this? I seriously thought this was discontinued years ago. I'd rather use sqlite.

Will the follow ups still have a 6 or will that field be blank?

They will probably be 1-5. May be blank.

You will probably need a second query that gives you th unique identifier for the call and the date stamp of Callresult 6.

Left Join that onto your existing count query and exclude everything that comes after the time stamp for call result 6.
