I dont think I've seen him on the MNF countdown show yet this season. Anyone know how he is doing ?

What did he get into?
Posted on 10/27/14 at 6:21 pm to 4LSU2
He has been battling cancer for a long long time

After a quick google search, there isn't much info at all. Probably still battling without tons of good news.

Not related to his illness, but I hope to never see him on TV again. He's awful. Hope he recovers from his illness and just retires.

The less I hear, the more pessimistic I become. His speach at the ESPYs had a Jimmy V farewell vibe to it--like he was giving his own eulogy. I, like most, have grown weary of his on camera schtick, but he is a living legend and a really nice guy.

Yup. It hit me hard because my younger brother was going through a fight with cancer around the same time as that speech. He spent his 19th birthday in a hospital taking chemo.
frick cancer.

He doesn't tweet a ton, but he is active on Twitter. No updates though.

I thought you hated the blacks, Walt

He more or less gave his own eulogy at the espys or whatever that was.

What kind of cancer does he have?
Posted on 10/27/14 at 9:36 pm to LSUsmartass
Not sure, but he is not doing well at all. Someone mentioned his speech from the ESPYs this year, and man that was some sad stuff. He's very skinny right now and hardly hanging on. Said in an interview that he didnt even want his doctor to tell him the stage of cancer. I remember at the time I was saying he wouldnt make it to the end of the year because it's that serious. God bless you Stu.

I had no idea of Stu's condition. This post made me to back and you tube his espy speech and that was truly inspiring. My best friend of many years died from a short bout with cancer last year. It was actually one year ago last week that he was given his terminal diagnosis whereby he lived another 47 days.
God bless you Stu and El Josey Wales.

The strong will that cancer inspires to those battling the disease is really remarkable.
