It does seem like an unusual spot to pick, but I guess it would give a view of the stadium, PMAC, and track stadium looking toward the south.

i pay my $400 a year to park there. Better not ruin my tailgate! Probably close off a corner of the lot and let people park then send overflow to another lot

The spot makes sense- grassy area, easy truck and bus access and good view of TS.
