From reading the article....sounds like she is upset at how she was treated in the process....like a criminal that had done something wrong and not a healthcare worker that had tried to help others suffering.
And you should know that temporal or forehead scanner thermometers are def not always accurate(esp if someone is flushed and sweaty from being tired and questioned for several hours with little water and food).

Fwiw....to clarify, I'm not saying I don't think healthcare workers coming from West Africa shouldn't be placed into quarantine.

I dont care if she has symptoms or not. Everybody coming from there should be put in 3 week quarantine

I agree. But there are better ways to go about it. Maybe she should have been notified before she left what to expect.

This quarantine thing just started though since our govt is making things up as they go. No idea what they are doing.

Only problem I see is another of government incompetence. Why the hell are immigration people suddenly medical screeners?

I think everyone should agree on that. Not like we had several months to come up with protocols and procedures for this......oh wait.

If Doctors Without Borders and these other charity medical organizations want to go there and treat it, how about donating some time to screening the incoming aid workers HERE?

We were discussing this at a meeting at work on Ebola I just went to this week. One of the nurses talking about the screeners at the airports and how they don't even know how to properly use the thermometers. They just aim them at the person's head or arm and as long as it isn't a certain number....they think the patient is good to go. She said she saw one screener with a reading of 94 degrees of someone they screened...and they just waved them on. Ummm.....you have temp of 94 degrees....you got bigger issues than ebola...you shouldn't be alive
So...that means they clearly are not using the scanners correctly. So the temps aren't accurate, who knows how many slipped by that actually had a low grade fever.
