I am technically a "helper" in my line of work but if it wasn't for me my tech would never be able to get the job done. How do you prove to the higher ups that this is you and not them?

Sometimes bosses aren't the best at their job. Those bosses typically take orders the best though.

Communication. Doesn't matter how good you think you are, can you communicate effectively? Through phone, email, and personal conversation? You obviously can't. That is why he is your boss.

I work on servers and not one Sgt. in my office is a better technician than me. However, their role as a supervisor is different from mine even though we have the same job.

TOO much.

too

synonyms: excessively, overly, over, unduly, immoderately, inordinately, unreasonably, extremely, exorbitantly, very; informal too-too
"invasion would be too risky"

to
preposition (1), infinitive marker (2), or adverb (3)

1. expressing motion in the direction of (a particular location). "walking down to the stadium"

2. used with the base form of a verb to indicate that the verb is in the infinitive, in particular.
expressing an outcome, result, or consequence.
"he was left to die" expressing a cause.
"I'm sorry to hear that" indicating a desired or advisable action.
"I'd love to go to France this summer" indicating a proposition that is known, believed, or reported about a specified person or thing.
"a house that people believed to be haunted"
forming a future tense with reference to the immediate future.
"he was about to sing" after a noun, indicating its function or purpose.
"a chair to sit on" after a phrase containing an ordinal number.
"the first person to arrive"

OR used without a verb following when the missing verb is clearly understood. "he asked her to come but she said she didn't want to"

3. so as to be closed or nearly closed. "he pulled the door to behind him"

Yeah yeah, I know, TL; DR.

You realize you are supposed to be better at your job than your boss right?

Thats what he pays you for, and therefore he can handle management aspects
