This sums it up pretty well. There are still some people behind gamergate saying it's about ethics but they need to do themselves a favor and move on to a different platform. Gamergate has been tarnished and is a dumb name anyway. Also gamersgate.com started receiving harassment even though that website is almost 10 years old.

You're kinda the dumb.
That being said, Quinn deserves all the shite thrown at her for her lying and her lack of professional ethics.
She doesn't deserve death threats or the threat of rape or harm to her family.
Sarkeesian deserves all the shite thrown at her for her really stupid videos that cherry pick things to make her point. And it's my understanding she has some serious accounting issues with her donations ending up in her pocket.

That's true. Whether I agree or disagree with the premise of her post she didn't deserve to be doxxed. I think going out of your way to avoid people because they have on a Halo shirt is absurd but she is free to have an opinion.
As for the death threats directed at Sarkeesian and Quinn I don't care. Professional victims aren't above faking threats, and some would argue they have done it before. Even if there are legit death threats that kind of thing happens with regularity on the internet and rarely does it incur any real risk. If anything Quinn and Sarkeesian are happy to get these threats so that they can continue to be victims.

Total biscuit has been calling them out for their handling of the threats fwiw. He said he has received them before also and police always tell him not to talk about them yet they keep publicizing them. In other words he thinks they should follow protocols and let the professionals handle them instead of tweeting about it.

On Sarkeesian, It's appalling the hate she gets for having an opinion, with that said, she's famous for being hated. Her opinions on masculinity and feminism are surface level at best and never offers anything of substance or evidence to back up her claims. I find it fairly sexist that she links shootings irresponsibly to masculinity.

man gamer gate is just a shell at this point filled with the biggest trash of both sides. most of the reasonable people gave up, and the only ones left are trying to prove that it is something that it is not.

I think this is part of the problem. The people still involved aren't busy with anything else.
Seriously, even in the worst case scenario, ethics in gaming journalism is not my biggest concern in my life.
