"Please, please don't elect Barry Goldwater [mushroom cloud]"

"Reagan is going to start WWIII"

"Reagan is starving children"

"Republicans going to put y'all back in chains"

"Republicans going to push grandma in her wheelchair off a cliff"

"Republicans want to repeal the 1964 CRA"

War on women

War on muslims

"They gonna take away your social security"

"They are going to force a theocracy on us"

"They want in your bedroom"

"The republicans are at war with immigrants"

"The conservatives want to destroy and pollute the entire planet"

"The republicans eat animals"

You should read some political history some day BayouBlitz or do you know all this and are just being a post count monger?

Very fair post Scruffy.

And I fully acknowledge that the left fear mongers as well. I just happen to think the right is a little better at it.

The religious right wins the award for top fear mongering with "Believe in Jesus or your soul will spend eternity burning in hell11"

That one is the best.

ETA: I don't claim Dems or the left deserves credit for any of these things not coming about. It's more a criticism of those who use fear to progress their agenda.

And I would like to add to my list...

No appeal of the 2nd Amendment. A particularly popular fear of the PT board.

Amnesty by executive order
I do agree that a president has fairly broad leeway to decide how to "enforce" the law. But, this would be using that authority to directly circumvent both the letter and intent of the law. That is a direct violation of his oath of office.
