What's up next?

The hordes of diseased and gang planted Hispanic children never amounted to anything.

Iran not threatening us, and appears to be seriously considering allowing inspectors in their plants.

The PT man-crush Putin hasn't invaded Europe.

No $5 a gallon gasoline.

No senior citizen death panels.

Economy continuing to improve, albeit at a slow rate.

North Korea not sword rattling.

Ebola not spreading like wildfire.

Obama hasn't destroyed the country.

Any guesses on what will be the next panic attack?

Most of your talking points are so ridiculously easy to squash it's not even worth the effort.

If they can't make a mountain out of a mole hill they'll manufacture the mountain out of thin air.

The right, being fairly new at it, just isn't as good at fear mongering as the left:

"Please, please don't elect Barry Goldwater [mushroom cloud]"

"Reagan is going to start WWIII"

"Reagan is starving children"

"Republicans going to put y'all back in chains"

"Republicans going to push grandma in her wheelchair off a cliff"

"Republicans want to repeal the 1964 CRA"

Rinse, repeat. Y'all are just too good at it. The right is like a junior varsity team of fear mongerers compared to the Democrat party since, roughly, 1964.

The hordes of Hispanics coming illegally into the country has cause Iran to put their nuclear projects on hold, which has stopped Putin from invading Europe, which has caused gasoline to stay below $5 dollars, which has stopped the senior citizen death panels, which is improving the economy at a slow rate, which has kept North Korea in check, which has contained the outbreak of Ebola, which has kept Obama from ruining the country.

You better hope those Mexicans stay here.

What happens if the Hispanics leave the country?? That's the next fear.

No Ace, they were just smarter than Pubs and figured out it was easier just to buy votes and to change minds and opinions.

It really was a brilliant strategy.

It's still a major issue and several have died or are paralyzed. Ask their families what they think.

Ebola killed them, Obama is just keeping it quiet.

Like all things as soon as something else popped up, Ferguson then ebola the media quit following the story. Kids are still coming across the border, costing us a shite ton of money and nothing will be done.

Some people, although I don't really believe it, theorize that the recent appearance and surge of Enterovirus D68 is due to this.

I've found nothing to support it though.

This is great news. We really need to work on relations with Iran. They could be a strong ally in the ME.

The PT man-crush Putin hasn't invaded Europe.
Did anyone actually believe that would happen? He did invade Ukraine though.

No $5 a gallon gasoline.
I need to read the reports on why the price of oil is decreasing so rapidly. I haven't been following that.

Depends on where you are in society. I'd say there hasn't been much if any improvement for the average American. That may just be in perception though.
quote:

North Korea not sword rattling.
Kim Jong Un was just ill or something is going on. I don't think anyone predicted that they would go in the direction they are. Didn't most people predict him to sword rattle more since he was making a name for himself?

I'm liking the direction that they are going.

In Africa it is.

I'm the opposite of a doomsayer, but let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

Well, if the Republicans take the senate, it'll likely be along the lines of "war on women," "put us back in chains," something about Nazis, etc.

At least that is what I expect.

But I bet you think climate change or the rich-poor gap will bring about the zombie apocalypse? amirite?

Also noticed, ISIS didn't make it on your list.

Or vets dying on waiting lists.

Or the flood of capital leaving the US via inversions.

Or the generally lackluster economic rebound.

Personally, I think as soon as the economy starts to actually heat up, we are facing massive inflation. But we haven't grown fast enough for that to happen yet.

Eventually, medicare/aid and Social Security will crush us. We will probably have some sort of half-assed reform that pushes the problem out some, so really it's my kids problem.

But that's OK, you keep thinking everything is good, because we haven't actually hit full-blown disaster stage yet.
