LSU wins out - could be in a 5 way tie between 2 loss teams with no tiebreaker

Here's a scenario that hopefully never happens:

LINK

LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, MOOOOOO St - all tied for the West, and all tiebreakers fail until (G) - but even that can fail.

Those are all realistic outcomes too.

A part of me wishes it would happen for two reasons:
1. LSU would win out
2. Chaos - I love chaos

Dude that doesn't even make sense.

If it comes down to a 5 way coin toss you know Les wins.

After Saban and Bradie James made their choice at the cotton bowl, Bama should be very worried about any coin flip scenario

I'm not sure. Maybe if LSU wins out and ties with Ole Miss and Mississippi St., Miss. St. could be eliminated if they were the only one of the three not to beat Alabama?

I think it says each team will be ranked based on head to head record of the other teams tied for first. In the scenario linked, each of the five teams would be 6-2, and 4-2 within the division. The record of each against the other four is 2-2, leading to the next tie breaker.

Stopped reading, and then noticed the poster. Wish I had done it in reverse order.

That sounds to me like they would go to the next-best team not in the tie assuming all tied teams are 2-0 against the East.

It's interesting, doesn't have to be realistic.

The SEC West part is a little out there, but not completely crazy.

But in order for it to be no tiebreaker, the SEC East stuff would have to happen too, and it's pretty ludicrous. There's no way Florida beats Georgia and South Carolina but loses to Mizzou and Vandy.

If that were to happen, LSU would stand a good chance at moving ahead of all of these teams. Beating 2 of them and the others having one or 2 losses. It would depend on who beats who and when? If any undefeated team loses 2 in a row while LSU wins 2, LSU jumps them. LSU beating Ole Miss and Bama back to back would put them near enough to the top 10.

Very wishful, unrealistic thinking, but there's a chance I suppose.

Problem is that the SEC tiebreaker used to use BCS rankings as a last resort tiebreaker, but the BCS is gone now. The SEC removed that tiebreaker from the books, but they haven't replaced it. So the rankings mean nothing when it comes to picking who is going to go to the SEC Championship Game.

If I remember correctly, the last-resort tiebreaker before the BCS was a vote of the ADs.

If it were a 5-way tie, that sounds like it could get messy

The highest ranked team would be the team that moves on. So technically there is a tie breaker
