Has the NFL def holding enforcement been a failure?

Im sure their analysts have somehow determined it will lead to more money for them, but it has seriously harmed the quality of the product.
Flow of the game is screwed, refs look stupid, defenses just arent allowed to cover anywhere near the LOS.
Will the "new" rules last beyond this season?

I hope not. I fricking hate this league. It feels like the refs can completely decide the outcome based on whether or not they call holding and pass interference on a team.

It's overcalled for sure but it's a necessary rule. You can't have corners grabbing jersey at the line of scrimmage.

Every incomplete pass is now met with a PI or defensive holding. It's ridiculous

There's been less PI calls so far than there were last year at this point, but the def holding have nearly doubled.

I hate it. I think that fans are smarter than to always be like

We don't want that shite. We want good clean, crisp, fair football. Yes most retard fans who play fantasy football want more points and yards. But not at the expense of a crisply paced and fluid game.
It needs to be addressed and Condi Rice is just the black woman to do it.

Its really starting to push me away from watching the nfl, and go more towards college.....and into hockey
