What high school coach?
The last time I looked the OM coach has a very good college coaching record.
Now give that big old computing machine back to you mommy and go play with your Leggos.

So, how would Michigan afford to pay Miles a salary comparable to Saban's?

Probably because it has the largest endowment of Div 1A football schools for an individual campus (except Stanford)
Endowment

And revenue is pretty great too.
Revenue By School

That doesn't mean Michigan is going to start selling off chunks of its endowment to chase after a football coach. I don't know the makeup of its portfolio but I do know that many endowments have large chunks of illiquid investments that are often mispriced, i.e. overstated.

Why is it the sunshine pumpers have become so profane and nasty anytime they hear someone give an opinion or state a fact about Miles that they don't like? My other favorite is always..."Oh yeah... name a better replacement." This is so damn immature and does nothing to justify keeping Miles. You are a fool if you don't think there are a 100 coaches that are better capable of x's and 0's as Miles. And as for recruiting, I'm sure there are a few that would have that talent along with the coaching ability.

So if I think LSU can do better, I don't care if you don't like it or think you are a better fan. So fireaway with your nasty responses and shrill rebukes...it only makes you look like defensive little punks.

We can all dream but Michigan isn't THAT stupid. We couldn't give Miles away.

Tell that to the many big time programs that are just dying to come close to staying near Miles winning percentage. Plenty examples just look at all the coaches on the hotseat. You must hate that somebody w the pedigree of cameron took a subordinate job under Miles

Name 5 of the 100 you think would consider the LSU job & produce better than Miles with no transition period. You wrote 100. Name me 5 realistic candidates.

I noticed that you didn't name a replacement that could do better

But would you dump the current coach who wins with a conservative offense for an unknown that might have more fireworks on offense with no guarantee that the defense will still be tough?

No, I believe defense wins championships and that is the main priority. But if your offense does not score, you can still lose 3-0. Last year was fun but it frustrated me to no end when we played Florida and we went back into our shell. That game to me is the typical Miles offense and last year's offense is the outlier, not the norm.

So in summary, if Miles left I would smile. Do I think we could go backwards? Yes by all means we could. But I think there is a good chance we could improve too and we would not have to suffer through this boring brand of football and having the urge to throw things when witnessing his many mental mistakes.

How do you know that? How many coaches planning meetings have you been at LSU?
How many have you been in at any college?
How many colleges?
How many coaches?
Who are they?
How do you know what their depth of x and o is?
What is YOUR depth of knowledgs of x and o to be able to make that decision?

You negative Nancies thorw out that criticism, but you provide NO facts to back it up. Back it up. Give us something verifiable to prove your point.

Again prove it. Prove that you have the experience and background to judge possible candidates then prove that they would substantially out recruit Miles.
Talk is cheap.

You are the one that sounds defensive, but take me up on my challenge. Prove your assertions.
Do it
Prove it.
Or admit that you really don't have a clue.

I'd love to see Miles take that job, if offered. But I think he stays because he knows LSU will be good again in 2015 & 16.

People love me.
Maybe because I don't suffer fools.
If I give you a headache, I'm sorry.
Perhaps thinking more often will make that go away.

Recruiting and X's & O's are just a part of what makes a good coach for a program. Lane Kiffin and Will Muschamp are great examples of good recruiters and X/O coaches. How have they done as college head coaches? To you it might seem "immature" to ask for a better, realistic candidate, but you can't just make knee jerk reactions and get rid of a coach and expose the program to significant uncertainties. I think schools like Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, Nebraska, and USC have made it perfectly clear to be careful what you wish for.

I think u got the pumpers mixed up with the nega's, like yourself. Immature asking for a solution to the problem versa just being a nega bitch. 100 coaches? Seriously dude? Stay defensive, youre funny.

The question isnt whether Miles will go, its whether Michigan will make a serious offer? Whats the odds on that? Still waiting.

There are few on here bigger fans of Miles than me, but he will go if its a serious offer.

Wouldnt u? Michigan, alma mater, easy schedule. Chance to go down as Michigan royalty like your mentor. The man who saved Michigan or possibly Big 10 football. Yea i wouldnt dare consider it.

lets think about this.

More money
Go back home
expectations much lower
or
stay in this coach killer division and deal with these ignorant fans.

And a part of me wants LSu to hire some upstart, like Kiffen Petrino or Sumlin and watch the program crater.
Maybe then a few of u would learn to appreciate a great man and coach, and handle yourselves a bit differently the next time u get one.
