Has anyone mentioned this as a comparison? That was the last time we won a game where we were clearly supposed to lose at home. They were favored by 6.5 (at least according to a link I found) and had they won out could have played for the national championship. We were most likely out of the conference race even though that year we had one loss instead of two.

It was also a year where we often struggled on offense. We had won that 16-14 game over Tennessee that looked like it was a 14-10 loss. We did have some offense against a mediocre Florida team in a 33-29 win at Florida. But we'd only scored 20 against WVU and 27 against a bad Vandy team. McNeese even played us close until we pulled away at the end to win 32-10.

We won 24-21. I can imagine a similar score Saturday. Not that I can't also imagine an ugly loss.

I remember SportsCenter or College Football Final that night. The intro (I think it was Fowler) to the highlight was something like, "Conventional wisdom was Alabama could win out to win the West over Auburn. Conventional wisdom, meet the Mad Hatter."

Edit: JJ threw 13 of the 20 pass attempts and 10 of the 14 completions.

That was probably the best game of JJ's career besides 2011 Arkansas.

He had a whopping 58.8 QB rating. By comparison, Jennings' performance last week was rated as 64.2.

Lee stepping up in the pocket to convert was a thing of beauty.

We will see, was convinced all week we were gonna beat the Tide..only hopeful today. Bama has never hated LSU the way Mississippi does. Spoiling that for Bama was nice to see, they were convinced of a title run.

that wasn't even his best game that month. Ole Miss was. though given the opponent and his atrocious play the previous 7 or so games, it's in the running.

2010 had a much better defense. I took a while for LSU's offense to get going that game, but the defense kept them in the game until it did. I'm not sure LSU's offense has that same luxury this year

That was the ONE game where les outcoached (and didn't out talent like in 2007 or get lucky like in 2011) saban out of all their meetings. Have to give les that.
