The entire market here is crazy right now. I live in Algiers and we had 6 houses for sale in my neighborhood over the summer. Now we have 0. All purchased by young professionals.

My parents bought their 7400 sq. ft. house for 280000 in northeast Louisiana. The cost of living down there is outrageous.

I work in Nola 2-3 times a week. I really don't understand how anyone can live there. It's like a 3rd world country.

fricking roads will swallow your car too

That's a 300k money pit that easily needs more than 300k put into it in the middle of nowhere. And it's only on 5 acres. I'm not sure how that's a deal.

Edit: It's not Antebellum, that listing is wrong by at least 80 years. And it needs way more than 300k put into it. And you'd have to live in the delta.

traffic in NO isn't bad for a big city at all. You must not have spent much time in large cities. Try living in Atlanta and Houston and then complain about traffic. Hell, New Orleans traffic has absolutely nothing on BR traffic.

I found it, you don't want. It is an "Antebellum style home." And it's in absolutely terrible shape.
