We need to force Bo into interceptions and steal some possessions. It begins with the following:

1.). Hunter and Rasco need to hit Bo early and often. That means don't give up on the read option play. When Bo hands off to the RB hit him anyway. I'm not worried about their RBs. Beckwith can handle them just fine. Bo is probably their best rusher and it's important that Hunter and Rasco don't let him get outside for easy yards. This leads to no. 2.

2.). Play stout pass defense. This is LSUs strength. OM passes the ball 45% of the time. However this stat is skewed because they ran the ball a lot against teams where the game was in hand. That means they have a tendency to pass the ball 50-55% of the time. This is huge opportunity to create turnovers from Bo if Rasco and Hunter harass Bo sufficiently enough as described in no. 1.

Thoughts?

Be strong up the middle, holding Wallace and their zone-read plays to minimal gains.

Lock down their WRs with our excellent secondary.

Well hell. You just summarized my no. 1 and 2 (realizing defending the zone read starts with the DEs and end with the middle).

controlling time of possession....and adams continuing to be a ball hawk and make plays....that and the DL continuing to improve....I like the matchup....but the LSU offense has to somewhat do their part....

Being disciplined on assignments, and form tackling/wrapping up.

They're going to try to spread out LSU's defense and exploit the middle linebacker, like they have the last few years. And it's worked the last few years.

Beckwith is a good athlete so maybe that makes the difference.

We stopped UK's zone read and Wildcat plays all day last week.

I like the LSU D match up with OM O as well. Win STs as well.
