Does anyone still have this and play it? With college basketball starting I have the itch for some college hoops action on PS3 and this was the last 2k version (I remember the EA versions sucking).

I was wondering how dated the graphics and gameplay are and if there are rosters online that are available. I saw a couple listed on eBay and was thinking of ordering it

Yes, i still actively play this game

I have my PS3 and my PS4 hooked up, all i do on the PS3 is watch Netflix and College hoops.

The dynasty mode they have for that game is the deepest sports simulation i have played to this date.

I remember it having a badass coaching carousel in the career mode, where you worked your way up from a one bid small conference team to mid major to a major conference

Play it every year for about a 2 month stretch. Legacy mode on there is still unbeatable.

Keep your expectations about the graphics in check. If you can do that it's the best college basketball game ever made, bar none.

The online roster download support is gone. The last rosters I downloaded were whatever year Kentucky had that all world team with Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis.

Agreed.

Fvcking awesome game. I could literally just sim and recruit for hours on that game when I didn't feel like actually playing.

Hell, it's the best college sports game ever made. Between the deepest dynasty mode ever created (I can start recruiting guys in 7th grade, for God's sake) and the amazing in-game atmosphere they were able to achieve, it beats anything NCAA Football has ever released, IMO.

That doesn't matter. I don't know about the 360, but you can transfer roster files on the PS3 via a USB drive so you can still get updated ones. I know Operation Sports used to have one going

Is this the one where you could create your own chants?

Why the hell is it more expensive than an Xbox One game? LINK

Edit: nvm LINK

Edit2: What the hell... LINK

Well it's a collector's item now, with a cult following. Though if you do some searching you can find it cheaper. I would pay $64 for it though if I lost it or it broke.

Well I can't argue with any of that.

I went to a used game store a few months ago and found a copy of College Hoops 2K8 for $12.

Damn. I did a Gamestop search online for a few near me and didn't find any that had it so I gave up. I actually still have my 360 version, but my 360 crapped out in like 2010. I'm thinking about selling it online seeing how much some of these are going for.

This thread made me remember how sick all the sim feature are with recruiting, the career mode, all the preseason tourneys, I had to pull the trigger

Yeah, I tracked it down in one of those sprawling local used movie and video game stores. With the limited retail space, I'd be surprised to find it at a Gamestop.
