Seriously, I would support the creation of South Florida. I always get a chuckle from liberal secession efforts (state secession in this case). Their secession efforts are always for good intentions of course whereas conservative secession efforts are racist.

Although, I agree with you on that; others, such as radicals willing to depart from their states for political reasons, don't see it that way.

If anything, I think we would see states starting to merge, change their boundaries before they just broke off into their own state.

Right leaning Northern Colorado becoming part of right leaning Wyoming. Right leaning eastern Washington and Oregon becoming part of right leaning Idaho, etc...

if they ever did add states, it will be an even number, most likely two, Porta Rico and Virgin Islands.

I was thinking more like Florida State and Virginia Tech.

Some of these break aways aren't a very good idea. New states would require two new senate seats, right?

Stupid.

We'd be a lot better off if Louisiana slid into the Gulf. Lucky for us, it's actually happening.

I think a better question would be "Will there ever be 49 States?"

Texas is on the way out.

No one is talking about this split in FL save for a few loons. This is the first I've heard of this non-sense and I travel to Miami quite a bit for work. Silliness.

frick Puerto Rico. They want to be a state but be exempt from taxes. It's a pretty far left country. Noticed this at a few places I went to. Hell I left a bar when I saw the bartender wearing a t-shirt saying "9/11 was an inside job by Bush"

fricking morons
