No Woman no ( will ) Cry.

AP-GfK Poll

Associated Press By Jennifer Agiesta and Emily Swanson

PER DRUDGE LINK

Washington (AP) Women have moved in the GOP's direction since September. In last months AP-GfK poll, 47 percent of female likely voters said they favored a Democratic-controled Congress while 40 percent wanted the Republicans to capture control. In the new poll, the two parties are about even among women, 44 percent prefer Republicans, 42 percent the Democrats. ( a 9 point shift in one month !!! )

In all, 55 percent of likely voters expect the Republicans to win control of the Senate, up from 47 percent last month.

The economy remains the top issue for likely voters -- 91 percent call it “extremely” or “very” important. And the GOP has increased its advantage as the party most trusted to handle the issue to a margin of 39 percent to 31 percent.

What's deeply important to likely voters after the economy ? About three-quarters say health care, terrorism, the threat posed by the Islamic State group and Ebola.

On foreign affairs, Republicans have the upper hand. By a 22 point margin, voters trust the GOP more to protect the country, and they give the Republicans a 10 point lead as the more trusted to handle an International crisis.

Obama has doomed the Democratic party.

Not too surprising for a midterm election. The female vote mirrors the male vote in certain ways, including which voters show up at the polls.

The midterm electorate is whiter, older, wealthier, and more educated than the electorate in presidential years and most of those factors favor the GOP. Married women turn out better as well, and they're significantly more Republican than single women.

That might be true to a certain point, but even in mid terms women still vote for dems by a smaller percentage. The Democrats lost nine points on women in one month. That is a drastic shift in anyones universe.

People don't like being talked down to. Eventually, minorities will realize this, too, and walk in significant numbers.

It may take a little longer, but it will happen.

I've said this all along. Conservatives will win women on the economy because ultimately it matters more than access to free BC.

This most recent dip is all about foreign policy and ebola.

The "security moms" that came out for Bush, and then later voted for Obama are now coming back to the R side because of the incompetence in handling ISIS and ebola

Well 44% are obviously dumbasses and don't realize that the Republicans want to take away their birth control and put them back in the kitchen

Depends on which women. Some flighty coed who hasn't outgrown the frat boy stage is going to vote based on the idea that taking responsibility for her own lifestyle choices is a "war on women".

Someone with a little more maturity and responsibility will gladly pay for her own pill if the D's stop killing jobs so she can afford it.

Yes, you are correct, the jump in a one month span reflects imho on dems being dumb enough to actually be against a travel ban and Obamas incompetence against ISIS. He's bombing and they are gaining ground.

It's not just about bc,it's about social issues in general being less important than economic realities. Sure, many college age women tend to favor social over economic issues because they aren't really impacted by a bad economy in the same ways that their older peers are. To most of them social issues are the most important issues. I mean, sure they want the economy to be "good","someday" when they graduate or are otherwise growing into their own lives and careers but that is a worry for another day! In this particular instance I wasn't really considering them because college age women tend to stay home for midterms anyway.
