I know, I know, I'm late to the party that is this 2006 masterpiece. But I could not believe how prophetic this movie has turned out to be. When I saw the President Camacho character and his dumbed-down speeches, I thought immediately of the time Obama called the GOP budget a "stinkburger" and a "meanwich". The question I have is will we see more of this type of appeal to the lowest common denominator in the future?

Without a doubt.

Immaturity, mudslinging, and hyperbole have always been a part of American politics.

However, there was a time once, when politicians had to persuade men to vote for him based on the reasoning and logic behind his positions, not just by pandering to the masses with emotion.

The appeals have been dumb for awhile (and not they didn't just start with Obama).

The questions are: is it worse now than say a generation ago? I am not sold that it is.

Will it be worse a generation from now? I doubt it.

Absolutely. In fact policies, mostly Democrat policies, are promoted and put into place to produce a higher population of the lowest common denominator. Their political future depend on it.

1) The War On Women
2) Pay Their Fair Share
3) You Can Keep Your Doctor
4) You Don't Need An ID To Vote
5) Advertising Welfare Benefits In Foreign Countries
6) We Will End The Wars

I could do this all day....

It wasn't prophetic at all. It was clearly set in the time period it was released.

The question is, why do you ignore the appeal to the LCD in the past?

No doubt it's happened before Obama, but he's the President right now and the stinkburger line was just very memorable.

Anyone who has noticed the changes in the Central Valley in CA knows why they were using Brawndo for irrigation. They were saving the fresh water to save the delta smelt.

The Carl's Jr kiosks are another sign liberals got their way with min wage. The giant garbage heap looked like DC after Obama was inaugurated. The monster trucks are a sign that Southern Culture will persevere.

the lower class as is, cannot function in the modern economy. what do you think they'll be able to do in 2 decades of technological growth?

...what will they be able to do with 2 decades of technological efficiency?
