After losing to arguably 2 of 4 best teams in the country LSU now must lineup and play against arguably 2 of other 4 best teams in the country on the "back end" of the season as CLM likes to say starting w Ole Miss this weekend and we all know who after bye week. After the Moo State and War Eagle losses some of the RANT were wondering if the Tigers would win another game - well maybe a few more but that was it! 6-6 is still the consensus by most I believe.

Thing is IF ..... LSU plays to the very best of its ability AND gets a few breaks along the way it's very possible the Tigers could warrant some merit in the 4 team playoff discussion. I for one am amazed at the turnaround on the defense but not totally surprised. Chavis is a master of defenses and once again he is putting this unit together like no one else in college football can. Offense is still a work in progress but Jennings is managing quite well and he's a gamer in 4th qtr. If LSU can keep it close against the Rebels going into 4th qtr and somehow pull off the improbable the back half of the season could be something special.

The 12 member committee looks at EVERYTHING when it comes to BEST 4 teams in the country. LSU has been improving every week since AUBURN game and if they get on a roll against top teams in the country (i.e. West division of SEC) they could find themselves in a great positon that no one thought possible after 10/4/14.

It all starts with game on Sat. night in Death Valley (that helps!). So show up and stay until the final whistle. Tear down the damn goal posts for all I care. GEAUX TIGERS!

Love your blind optimism but we won't be in anyone's playoff discussion

My heart wants this situation to happen and its not impossible, but the team that takes the field this Saturday cant resemble anything along what stepped on the field in Jordan Hare. I'm not getting to excited til im proven otherwise. Yes we did just man handle and very much improved Kentucky team that can win the East with a win over UGA, but im reserving judgement that we have arrived til we knock off a Western power.

Everyone has been talking about 2015 for years now because we knew this year wouldn't be great. But, to date, we've lost to two top five teams and, with the exception of the first half of the Wisconsin game, played well against everyone else. I wish we would have been more competitive against State and Auburn but otherwise I'm not disappointed with this young team. Hell, with four games to go, they've got a shot to make something very special happen. What will it say about the fight in this bunch if they go 10-2 or 9-3 (like last year's team) given all the personnel we lost.

As I recall, there was a players only meeting after the Auburn game. Can't begin to guess what was said at that meeting but I'd like to imagine someone stepped up and asked his teammates to forget how they started and just fight like hell the rest of the way. I saw fight at Florida. I saw fight against Kentucky. And to paraphrase a fiery old coach, "How fricking easy would it have been for them to say [its not our year]."

Win or lose, I'll be a happy Tiger if I see fight on Saturday night.

Love your optimism, but in order for us to get in the playoff discussion, there has to be like a 4 way tie of teams with 2 losses and somehow the tiebreakers putting us in atlanta. Without that happening, we may get a great bowl game, but playoffs is probably out of the question.
