This is what I do every day for my profession and even I forget at times or take for granted just how great this generation truly is.

it makes my day when older patients come in to clinic. hearing their stories about the war and old new orleans are priceless, and it won't be long before none are left to tell them

Old people are awesome. I'd love to sit down with some WWII vets one day and hear their stories. I would be entranced..

Sadly, there aren't many of them left to listen to.

I heard (not sure if true, probably can be verified with a quick search) that nearly 1000 WWII veterans die every day.

My GF was a later in life baby, and her dad was a naval officer in WWII. I've seen pictures of him in his dress whites, and others in his flight jacket on the deck of a carrier, and he was a

I looked up the war diary of his ship, and they saw some combat, but the thing that struck me was how tedius a lot of it was. Day after day where the only entry was "steaming on same course as before," or "anchored as before."
