Are they going to be working in a hospital with direct contact with infected patients?
They won't need them.

Soldiers from the 101st Airborne will primarily be building hospitals, ultimately leading what could be a contingent of 4,000 American service members. They’ll be housed either in tent cities at military airfields or in Liberian Ministry of Defense facilities, Rodriguez said.

Soldiers’ health will be monitored through surveys and taking their temperature on their way in and out of camps. If a service member does get sick, Rodriguez said they will be flown home immediately for treatment.

Why are you surprised by this? I have made the observation on more than one occasion that the soldiers being sent to the African nations in response to the ebola outbreak would not have the appropriate training or equipment to operate in a biological hazard zone. The soldiers do have the training and equipment to operate in areas contaminated with chemicals, but that equipment is not as effective against biological threats. It is also extremely uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time, and it greatly reduces the abilities of those wearing the equipment to perform routine functions such as the physical labor soldiers are expected to perform.

It would be awfully hot doing construction work in a hazmat suit.

Here's what I don't get. At present I heard this morning that there are less than 400 service personnel in Africa to do this building project. We've been hearing for three weeks now how grave a situation this is and time is of essence, the number one threat to national security at this time.
Why is it taking so long to get troops there? If this is so important yet we only have a tenth of the people there, I'm a little unsettled if we had to get our troops to a battlefield situation in a hurry.

There is absolutely no chance our soldiers will contract ebola, and we're constantly monitoring their health to identify any soldiers who may have contracted ebola.

Then why the constant monitoring?

There is absolutely no cannibalism in Her Majesty's Royal Navy, and when I say none, of course I mean there is a certain amount. Any sailor with bitemarks should report to his commanding officer.

just to be sure and for assurance purposes

Hopefully they'll just be building medical facilities, establishing protocol, and trucking medical supplies around.

Then practically would be a good substitution for absolutely don't you think?

You should never speak in absolutes.
The irony in my sentence was intentional.
