Every click brings up Mackeeper popup on mb pro

My mom's MacBook pro must have some malicious bs on it. Every time you try and go to a webpage, it redirects you to Mackeeper popups. Should I just tell her to bring it to an Apple Store or is there an easy fix?

You got yourself a mac virus.
Stop clicking everything you see. Don't download things that ask you to download them, only download things you ask to download. Run Sophos.
