What are your ironic moments in gaming?

I just had one. 
I was playing isolation. I'd never been down into the floor vents because I don't want to run into that bastard in a confined space. But I was on the lab level where everything was really dark so I hop in to the floor vent and I start crafting stuff. I spend like 5 minutes crafting and I hear the alien above but I seem safe. So I start googling "does the alien in isolation go..." The son of a bitch crawls into view 5 yards ahead of me, I drop my phone and try to pull out my flame thrower but it isn't equipped and I get pawned.

I can see the argument being they had to earn those spawn traps, and you just ran to a spot.

This seems like it's just a different version of the Geico commercial where they hide behind the chainsaws. The Alien was just shaking his head the whole time

I earn it by getting there faster and i claim it as soon as my motion sensor is dropped. Camp a spot over looking a spawn for easy kills = GOAT. Camp a spot with motion sensor = fig....I just don't get it... Well I do....some men just can't take a beating.

Personally.
As a kid having an older friend who I would play against in Street Fighter 2, tell me I will never beat him with Vega.
Flash forward to 2011, I run into him again and find out he also now plays super street fighter 4. He agrees to a match after talking himself up.
The look on his face when he sees that I am (at the time) ranked #1 in the world with Vega.

I remember, after many, many attepmts at beating the final boss on Diddy Kong racing, I lept up, controller in hand and accidentally yaked the console from its secure location. The force dislodged the cartridge from the console. When I reset the game I found all of my files had been erased. It was quite a roller coaster of emotions that day.
