I'm glad that POS is dead. If he was white the officer would be receiving medals.

When will decisions be made?

Extremely flawed law.

This seems like a legal use of deadly force case to me. Police Officers do not have to disengage like a regular citizen would have to do it that situation. The Perp committed a forceable felony by attempting to disarm a police officer. The had every reasonable justification to use deadly force to stop him.
Ferguson should promote the officer. He fought for his life against a thug and won. Good for him.

It seems as if the mike brown took off after the initial encounter, failing to get a hold of his gun. At this point, why is it necessary to use deadly force? I understand the use of deadly force when Michael brown was in the cop car, but the assailant had removed himself From that situation.
At that point, call for back
Up, stay in your car, or give chase in the vehicle or on foot. I can't grasp how it is logical to gun him down as he's running away.

Wrong.
Repeatedly US Courts (as liberal as they are) have held that once anyone starts a life-threatening action such as what is alleged to have happened here, the genie is out of the bottle unless they (the perp/s) completely abjectly surrender and pose zero threat to any law enforcement agents.
Running away from a cop like what is described to have happened here has in other cases resulted in the suspect immediately getting a weapon and/or getting others to come help him/her in killing law enforcement officers.
A law enforcement officer cannot be and is not expected to be a mind reader in this instance.
