Was just offered tickets, 23 rows up from pit stop.
I'm a big sports fan but not of nascar, I've never seen I race, probably know the names of 3 drivers.
Is it fun. I'll be in the area anyway

Have some beer, watch the people, etc. I won't say it's impossible to have a bad time at a major racing event, but you should have a good time with free tickets.

Yes.
You'll either love it or hate it (and get to tell everyone how superior you are to everyone else there). Either way, you can check it off your sporting event list.

Depends on where you party. The race while fun is nowhere near as fun as the pre-race festivities.

Serious answer: my bro goes every years and loves it.
It was one of those deals where the first experience turned him into a fan of the sport, and it become hardcore fandom over the years

I'm not really a NASCAR fan but I went to Talledega in October of 07 and had a great time. Got there Saturday and camped out overnight. I watched LSU-Florida that night on somebody's huge screen TV set up outside their huge RV. The campground is like a Redneck Woodstock. There was an old Suburban with the roof sawed off and a stripper pole attached driving around. Good times.

Sure, why not? Could be fun

23rd row? Very loud and You will probably be pelted with rubber and sand. Also, the inbreds used to throw their empties down to the fence , so beer cans will be flying over. Getting there early in the week and partying is why 80% of the people are there.

Talladega isn't really that loud. With the restrictor plates the motors aren't near as loud as a full powered car race. Its definitely an experience any sports fan should take in. Its really amazing when a car hits the wall at 200 mph a mile away from you and you can still feel it in your chest

Talledega doesn't hold a candle to places like Charlotte or Bristol in terms of volume
Posted on 10/17/14 at 10:16 pm to shawnlsu
It's still really fricking loud.

I've been a number of times due to a sponsorship thing and I'm not a big NASCAR fan.
But, loud fast cars, ridiculous people, beer, it's worth doing once for sure

I've been several times and can't really say I've ever watched a race on tv. It's a damn good time you will not regret.

It's not as loud as NHRA but it's loud as frick.

You should learn to spell it first.
