It really is unreal how bad of a lineup it is. Nola is a show-heavy town and Voodoo booked only headliners. The rest are fillers. Nola is always getting good bands and I don't see this lineup wowing people.

I love Outkast and Arctic Monkeys, but I'm not dropping $175 for a ticket to see them. Foo is cool and all-not my kind of rock band, though..probably would wander over to London Souls for a bit. I get Skrillex will draw a big crowd, and that's sad.

I thought new management would change the "Let's book 3 good bands and fill the rest with bottom feeders" mentality, but that hasn't changed.

Yeah, it does suck to see Voodoo fall so far. They had great line ups from 99-04 & 06-10.

Agree. I went to the first several Voodoo Festivals and they were incredible. I was literally running from stage to stage all day. But now they line-up is like a state fair line-up.

Personally, I feel like they paid attention to the niche market more than ever. I think the top cards are a complete disaster but I don't listen to a lot of mainstream music any more. The ticket price is ridiculous but they price it that way bc they know their demographic (I know alot of parents who buy their kids VooDoo tix every XMAS....every year)

The under cards are impressive in my opinion. Alot of bands that would play OEJ's and lets face it, VooDoo is not hip to those guys usually. Wild Cub, Sturgill Simpson, Gogol Bordello (do not miss), Wild Feathers, Ben Booker (yea local-ish but a big name now) Fishbone, Melvins, etc....thats a bit diff than your typical festival these days.

However, they may be too niche. Yea, I want to see a couple of those niche bands but there are not enough to justfiy the $175 sticker...unless they had a headliner I loved. Which def is not Foo Fighters.

They should go back to two days or even one. They clearly don't have the money or the ability to book three solid days of bands.

This sums up the entire festival.

$1 million or so for top bands like Foo Fighters. Maybe a little less for Outkast.

I love Voodoo's lineup this year, but they spaced out the three bands I wanted to see on different days. Rise Against, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Foo Fighters on different days?

Also, look at how they packaged the lineups with groups with extremely different fanbases. Friday has Rise Against, Outkast, and Slayer. What a weird mix. Rise Against seems like would make a lot more sense being on a day with AWOL Nation and 30 Seconds to Mars. AWOL Nation might not have been a bad band to pare with Outcast.

I'll be going on Sunday for Foo Fighters because I am a big fan of them, and I'll catch Shorty and AWOL Nation while I'm at it.

The biggest acts usually cost about 1 million a show. Foo/Outkast were probably 500-800k

I would bet the Foos are getting a million or close to it. NIN and Pearl Jam probably got a million each last year.

These are the prices charged to colleges, but probably not far off for venues/festivals.

This is true, but since I've actually never been, I figure I might as well go. I'm sure it'll be a good time. Looking forward to Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, and Outkast.

I believe NIN was in the 800K range last year and Pearl Jam was approx. $1 million.

I would expect Outkast and Foo Fighters to be around $1 million as well.

No idea what Arctic Monkeys would command since they played the f'n Varsity in BR earlier this year.

Anyone know any promo codes? I want to kill myself by paying these prices.

as it was an off date between being pretty high on the bill for ACL, i wouldnt expect that to be a normal show for them. their last US tour was straight arenas i believe.

Looks like they just added James Dolan's (owner of the Knicks) band , JD & the Straight Shot, so there's that...

They also headlined Glastonbury. They wanted to play a small venue by choice. And it was the best show I saw last year in BR

Switch back to 2 days, leave the EDM stages to Buku, then maybe some people will quit bitching and Voodoo won't be the dispised festival it has become.. but probably not
