Students family admits she may be a problem chile but you don't expect nobody to fight her like that.

quote:

Nikia Jones is the student's aunt. She's seen the video and is outraged over the teacher's behavior. "You're supposed to be a role model to these children and you took your shoes off and physically was fighting her like you was outside on the street," Jones says.

I didn't see anything about anyone defending the 11th grader

I saw them admonish the teacher for escalating the situation when she had the chance to walk away, and I agree with them there.

She say's she knows her niece is trouble, has been in fights in the past and still sends "the best they had" to that school expecting a teacher to put up with their little heathen.

It may not have been the kind of defense we're used to seeing in videos like these.

I think there's a fairly substantial difference between "putting up with" and taking your shoes off, throwing punches, and screaming that you're going to kill her.

That situation was handled very, very poorly by the teacher - regardless of whose fault the problem was.

Doesn't matter if the girl threw a book at the teacher, the teacher shouldn't have reacted that way. The student deserves to get in a lot of trouble for her actions, but the teacher also crossed the lines by taking off her shoes and going crazy like that.

In the end both are wrong here.

No mother or father in the picture. Not surprising. This is the fundamental problem with many of these kids.

So families up in Baltimore have to choose which kids go to school? WTF is she talking about? Sending the "best you have?" How about you send ALL you have. Maybe there wouldn't be so many f'ing animals on the streets.

Story should be about both. Media will spin it to be only about teacher though because all you see is her going crazy in the video.
