When you put it in picture like this, you realize modern college football contender club seems a bit small. Mississippi State looks so dam odd on the list. You messing up the college football order. I like a little chaos

That must be the AP Poll.

LSU was preseason #1 in the Coaches Poll in 2012.

It's crazy how few teams have been number 1 in the 2000s.

They were actually #1 in 2012. The national championship game wasn't until 1/9/12. Lsu would have been #1 in every single poll out there until that day.

Meh.. This is by season. (Notre Dame would be 2013 if you did it your way) You're opening up the whole BCS title game being in the next year thing that most on the SEC rant can't grasp.

That's not how it works. That counts as the final 2012 poll.

Arkansas, Ole Miss, A&M, it really started to suck for y'all when they let blacks play?

Ole Miss '64 (zero SEC titles since '63)
Arkansas '65 (your only claim to a title is when Bama won both the AP/Coaches)
A&M '57 (we good with that)

Arkansas claims 64 (as they should), not 65.

We were alright up until the 80s. Not number one of course, but conference champions and big four bowl winners.

They might have done well if they had a coach.
