2010? I thought Mingo and Sam were the DE's in '11.

Ken Adams may not have been a star, but he was a solid player for us. He started nearly every game in his two years here.

How many JUCO players really work out or even play at LSU?
D Byrd is the only one that I remember truly contributing.

Akiem Hicks would have been a decent snag
are you high? the dude had to leave LSU because an assistant coach let him stay at his apartment on a recruiting trip, or something like that. it's not like he came to LSU and got kicked off the team for pulling a winston. dude is beastly for the saints, could've been a really great DT at LSU.

that's wonderful...for Auburn
Cam Newton
Duke Williams
Nick Fairley
Auburn seems to get some JUCO studs
Again, I just asked how many really worked out for LSU specifically. Not all of CFB. Some people have pointed out some good ones.
Like I mentioned, I completely forgot Mett was JUCO. Ken Adams? Meh. He started and that's wonderful. Did he start b/c of how good he was or b/c of lack of depth at the time?
I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you bring in a JUCO kid, they should be starting and making an impact immediately. Otherwise, why not just give that scholly to a guy that has 3-4 years instead of 1-2?
Q Leslie is looking like a complete waste of a scholly at this point.
A Hicks...doesn't matter the reason. Fact is he never saw the field once for LSU
IDK. I'd just rather they use a scholly on a kid who may not be as highly recruited but they can develop in to a player in 3-4 years to help the team instead of a JUCO kid who never gets on the field, which seems to be the case more often than not.

So you think that because a potential All-SEC talent at DT, had to leave because of recruiting violations, that proves your point that JUCOs don't play much at LSU?

Holy shite nevermind. Y'all win. Every JUCO player ever given a scholly by LSU ever has won the Heisman
Better?
THis board man I swear. Any point contrary to "every LSU player is great or a diamond in the rough or a sleeper" is met with constant moaning and bitching
I don't get excited over JUCO offers. Y'all can

So you would rather take a guy that is less talented just because he may or may not make a contribution 3-4 years from now. Rather than a guy that is extremely talented, but will be here less time. The amount of low rated guys that LSU has given a scholarship and they didn't pan out is 100 times longer than the JUCOs that never played

your whole point was "How many JUCO players really work out or even play at LSU," right? that statement logically means that the JUCO players don't usually work out at LSU because they're JUCO players. akiem hicks' situation was not the result of his being a JUCO player -it was an NCAA violation on the part of a coach who's no longer here. hicks was the collateral damage. coming from JUCO had nothing to do with that.
you don't have a valid point. it's cute that you thought so, though. keep trying.

He started over Mingo. So that leaves us with Wroten, Byrd, Mett, and Adams as successes but because Leslie hasn't played that means Jucos are worthless, that's your argument? I've got news for you, maybe half the HS kids that come to LSU become solid players. Not everyone is going to work out, that's why we "over-recruit".
