rap/hip hop. I don't really even consider it music. It's just .... noise disguised by awful fast talking.

I like good blues, but a lot of it is boring after a while.

There are so many sub genres of blues though. I guarantee a lot of what you listen to still has plenty of blues roots. Allman Brothers - lots of blues elements. Same with led Zeppelin. Same with Hendrix. Gilmour uses a lot of blues scales in his playing with Pink Floyd.

If we are strictly speaking of things like Son House, Muddy Waters, BB King, etc. I can see how it could get boring to some. But, it's by far my favorite genre. It has the most emotion and soul in it IMO.

Least favorite genre(s): New Rap, New Country. Both are so fricking awful.

Yeah I'm not doubting it's influence and I appreciate that. Just saying that I'm not in "the mood" for Blues that often. I'll probably gain more of an appreciation for it one day, but not quite yet.

Metal- where the lead singer is screaming into the mic. There are some other bad genres out there but I can tolerate everything else.

My brother was in a band that did the screaming into the mic thing. I understand that you have to try and get your name out there as much as possible, but I don't understand how anyone in the world can enjoy that shite. The singer was actually decent and a couple other members were not horrible but my god talk about shooting yourself in the face as musicians.

What state of mind do you have to be in to enjoy that? Serious question, I just can't imagine a time when I would hear something like that and think to myself "man, that was awesome". To be fair I don't know who Anthony green is either.

Circa Survive is actually some good stuff.

Musically, their first two albums are outstanding. So trippy and ambient.

Give this a listen LINK

Anthony Green used to be in Saosin. a long long time ago. He moved on to this band around 05/06 or so. Musically, this band is outstanding. One of the few bands like this I'll listen to. Other recommendations:

Glass Arrows
The Great Golden Baby
In the Morning and Amazing
Living Together
In Fear and Faith
