That's pretty cool. What position is he trying out for? I've only very casually watched ASU Rugby Club team out on the SRC fields~ Seems like it'd translate ok.

He's 6'2 220lbs, I would guess RB. The SI article I read also mentioned something about RB.

here's a description from a redditor

quote:

Jarryd Hayne is a massive NRL star - and that's not understating things. In terms of profile among the sport, he would be comparable (not population wise obviously) to the likes of Megatron and Adrian Peterson - a once in a generation talent who is absolutely exceptional. Him and Greg Inglis are the NRL's biggest stars it would be fair to say. He is also big in the State of Origin, which is kinda like the Pro Bowl except it's the best players in a 3-game annual series which arguably means more than the NRL. He represents New South Wales.
He demanded top dollar in the NRL, and is an international star too. He has twice won the NRL equivalent of the MVP (the Dally M Award), in 2009 and this year.
He plays for a rubbish team, and is an incredible NRL talent - a comparison would be Barry Sanders on the Lions in terms of him being an exceptional player completely unsupported by the players around him.
Here is some of his skills: LINK
It's not guaranteed he will translate to the NRL, nor has he indicated a preferred position - he's 6 foot 2, and NRL's reliance on dancing in the backfield probably won't translate to the NFL. He is only 26 years old, and has played 176 games for his NRL club since 2006. He has also played a number of international and representative grade games.
My guess on a positional fit for him would be WR (could play like Golden Tate) or FS if he can read oppositions - which ties into the NRL position he played, fullback, which is kinda their equivalent of FS.
He has become good mates with Reggie Bush, and visited the Seahawks recently too which could be possible indicators of teams he'd want to join.
