LCD TV pictures goes out while watching.

LG 47" lcd TV goes black while watching. The sound still plays. The picture will sometimes come back if I turn it off then on. I will bring it to get looked at but I don't want to spend much $ on it. Any ideas of the cause? TIA

Had to replace the lamp bulb in my Sony LCD when it started doing that. Was an older rear projection television and ran about $45 and I replaced it myself.

Your bulb went out. Google your tv model and find the correct replacement bulb you need. Then YouTube how to change out the light yourself. Much cheaper then taking it somewhere
