It's just the tidal area of the beach that is public most likely

Larry Ellison bought an ENTIRE Hawaiian Island. The 6th largest Island in the chain, Lanai.

My buddy was stationed in Hawaii and got married a couple of years ago. We rented a house right on the beach... there was a wall on one side and a drainage canal on the other. People would go out in the water to get around the wall or walk down the drainage canal to get to the beach in front of the house.

No beach is private...

I sat on the porch drinking beer and watching some 90 year old man trying to spear fish... he was out there damn near all day... right on our "private beach"

With that kind of money, I would have purchased the Robin Masters estate and hired Tom Selleck to run around in character.

So it's like the Descendants in reverse, without the dying whore wife or dysfunctinal children?

Win.

If he's in the water, he's not on the beach or your property.

There's a surf spot here in Jax that is basically on gov't property, a naval base. It's funny to see the fat guys in their MP costumes, patrolling the beach with their M-16 all pissed off, and not being able to do anything about it.

frick man, I just left there after 3 years. I wish I had known that. You obviously don't want to trot out on someone's beach, knowing it's not theres though I may have tried it a few times

It was my second favorite movie of 2011-2012. Some classic scense in there.

Last time I was in Wailea some bums had set up a shantytown of old tents in front of all the multi-million dollar houses.

Dude, Hawaii is basically a shantytown.

It's West Virginia only in tropical paradise.

The legacy of English Law, the intertidal lands of the UK belong to the Crown. The state owns part of the beach. It has to be that way, upon reflection. It is a reason why Jamaica is such a shithole to visit, any citizen can walk down an adjacent beach to harass and pester visitors at allegedly private beachfront resorts.
