The doctor who diagnosed you didn't bother to explain?

Of the hip?
Is so, something else will kill you before this does.

What the hell does that have to do with this? I don't pick on you about your gayness

It is more common in overweight people

I wonder if this is a webmd diagnosis.

The cells in your bones are dying because not enough blood is getting to them. You won't die, but you'll have a lot of pain in your joints (especially the hip) and may develop arthritis.

Think you'll be ok...
Sat in on some orthopedic procedures in high school...one patient had avascular necrosis in their hip. All the procedure was, was drilling into the hip bone. Apparently that trauma triggers the bone to fix itself.

Depending on how bad it bothers you, I would try physical therapy first, but I've never really dealt with AVN of the ankle so take my advice with a grain of salt. But if you do get surgery, definitely get physical therapy afterwards.

I'm reading the MRI report and it doesn't sound good. Dammit if I had known this would be the result I wouldn't have gone to the appointment

This board's fascination with overweight people is mildly neurotic.
