Did Cincy do the right thing playing for the field goal at the end of OT?

They had 34 seconds, were inside the 20 yard line, had a timeout and 3 very good shots at the end zone. IMO they should've tried going for the touchdown and not have it come down to one dude's leg.

I would've done a quick pass to the outside for a couple of yards at the very least to get a bit closer.

But yeah they have more than enough time for 2 shots.

NFL kickers should be near automatic inside of 40 yards. I'd say they had about a 95% chance of making that kick. Coach played it right.

You've gotta expect your kicker to make a 36 yard FG there.

I am ok with the decision. The kicker was 3/3 on the day and it was a chip shot.

like the announcer said, they wanted to end the game with the ball, not give it to Carolina

I said before the kick they should've gone for it. It wasn't crazy elements outside and Cincy was moving the ball fairly well all day, they had the potential for it. Hope for the best, assume the worst with your kicker.
