name a place to go spur of the moment with family for two day and come back tom.

Looking to go somewhere within a few hour drive family oriented to stay the night and come back tomorrow..either to sight see or with a few things to do..leaving Gonzales..

ok..edited for a two to three day trip..leave early sunday morning have have to be back for wednesday morning.
we have been to N.O. insectarium, kids museum, aquarium and zoo. looking to travel from gonzales to mississippi, alabama, or florida...just looking for something with maybe sight seeing, museums that kids may like (space museum in mississippi) what are some good two day trips??
i like the idea of vicksburg battle grounds.
we are wanting to get out of louisiana and just get away, you know??

Seriously. Grab some baby harnesses and go hiking in tunica.
Grab some tents and camp out. Build a fire and make hobo meals and s'mores and tell ghost stories.
It's just cool enough and October too.

And my kids are well behaved..trips are easy...we plan things out also to keep them busy..
