Not talking about any particular beer, so not going to the FDB with this.

I love growlers in theory, but it's usually about $15-25 for a fill (plus $5-10 for the growler if you don't have your own already). Why pay those prices for what's equivalent to about a 5-pack of beer when you can get a 6-pack for roughly $8.99?

Maybe there is an advantage that I'm missing that y'all can bring to light.

Some beer is only available on draught.

A lot of micro brewers don't bottle beer.

Exactly.
And beer is better out of a keg.

It is a little more expensive, but I like draft better than bottles, and there are some beers that you can't find in bottles.

You can find some cheap growlers and take them to breweries to fill them.
Mon-Wed at Parish brewery in Broussard, La it's only 8 bucks to fill one up.

I fill growlers at Great Raft for $10. You can get Reasonably Corrupt, which is not yet in cans, and sometimes others that are available only on tap.

Yea the brewery fills are the best value. I filled one with Prairie standard today for $15, which is the non-special price. That's probably about right for a six pack of that particular beer.
