As commish, I process trades in my league immediately.

If it is a day before a game, I ask both owners if they're fine with me pushing the trade thru.

We don't have a processing time in my league. For example, if traded players are on my bench this week or haven't played, the trade will be reflected on this week's lineup. Otherwise, it will process for next week.

I've been in a pretty strong league for the past several years. All of my friends and I are knowledgeable fantasy players and at some point in our league's history, processing times became stupid when it came to the realization that 'trade rapes' likely can't/won't happen.

Because it gives the league time to veto it

Believe it or not..there are leagues with shitty managers and enablers that will trade rape

that trade I asked about last night? I'm the commish but the default rules are set to owner approval. I could've approved it but wanted to get a unanimous vote to avoid the appearance of impropriety

I'm giving luck and lacy for McCoy and marshall

luck isn't playing for my team, so I'm asking as to not screw the other owner...complaints abound.

what a crock of shite

I do the same. Had a league mutiny on my hands because a few guys wanted to veto trades. Said if the majority wants a trade to be vetoed then it must be unfair.

I said BS but put it to a vote. League voted to let the commish, me, keep the power to uphold or overturn trades immediately.

Yep. It's the best way to go. In my 6 years as commish, I've only vetoed one trade.

the objection to the bypassing of the processing period was essentially "this helps the team I'm playing this week"

that's so dumb. it's an assumption the trade helps a team. the trade could be hurting a team.

The point of the veto is to avoid collusion, and to avoid trade rapes in league where you don't know people well enough to know if they are cheating.

In a league amongst friends who all have been playing fantasy football for years, if two grown men think a trade makes their team better, then why the hell would someone think it is okay to not let them do it?

The old " oh noz this team will be too good after the trade" complaint.

no, it wasn't even that, it was "oh noz I am playing this guy and it helps him" I approve the trade because it's equitable and fair, but I object to the bypassing the processing period because I'll lose this week.

and he wouldn't lose. he has a really good lineup that just had one of those weeks

if the trade rape is excessive absolutely I'd veto it even if I knew there wasn't collusion. It fricks the league.

I trade raped someone earlier but given the circumstances it wasn't excessive

I sold high on Patterson, ertz and terrance Williams to buy low on eddie lacy, an injured Jordan Cameron and a recently shutout marques colston (to give me a one week play in case aj green sat) that kind of shite is fine. But let's say Demaryius Thomas for Odell Beckham Jr...frick no, and I've never seen a trade like that, though according to the trade evaluations on this board, shite like that happens.

vetoing out of jealously is busch league. if two teams feel the trade is fair and its not collusion, let it happen and hate yourself for not making a trade with the dumbass before it was too late.

sure as shite is, but I've seen scenarios on here that are outlandish as shite and would pretty much hand the trophy to the trade raper thus killing the competitive balance of the league.
