You are right, don't see how he can be a match for Arrow and Flash together.

Hell, he's not a match for the Flash by himself. That is one comic book character that always confused me as to how he was a match for the Flash. Like I said in an earlier post, how does a dude throwing boomerangs pose a threat on his own for a dude that out runs bullets?

But he can be a pretty ruthless character and would be a good match for Oliver. I bet, since it apparently will take Oliver and Barry both to take him down, he'll be pretty damn ruthless/bad arse in this universe.

Apparently everyone that saw the Arrow/Flash crossover screening last night had to sign NDA's so hopefully we wont get major spoilers for the episodes.

The general reaction on twitter is overwhelmingly positive, everyone is saying it lives up to the hype. They also showed the previews for the midseason finale for both shows and we're described as being "like movies".

So yea is it December 2/3 yet?

So I've seen some of the Q&A from the crossover screening and thought you guys might like a summary of some of the more interesting points.

The midseason finale's for both shows will supercharge each show going into 2015

The Arrow/Flash crossover has the producers reconsidering keeping all the superpowered shennanigans over on The Flash

They have an episode idea for later in the season where Team Arrow takes on another metahuman.

Laurel wont appear at all during the Flash part of the crossover episode, only has a small part in the Arrow episode.

Epiosdes 10, 11, and 12 are a three part triology featuring Laurels debut as Black Canary.

They acknowledge that Laurel has to be a different type of vigilante compared to Oliver because she doesnt have the skills yet to do what he does. She is gonna get her arse kicked a lot.

Episode 13 is titled "Canaries"

They're will be more small crossovers between the two shows this season but nothing major.

Stephen Amell said he hasnt worked with Laurel's Black Canary yet which, since they're filming episode 12 right now, kinda supports my theory that Oliver will be MIA in the present for an episode or two.

Amell comes across in his interviews as being really involved and really loving playing Oliver.

Yeah, Amell has worked his arse off from the start promoting the show. He goes to just about every comic con (especially in the first seaon) in all of the cities, and does a crap load of interviews. I think he is truly thankful he got the role and loves it, and has done everything he could to make it a success and promote the crap out of it.

Came across this

quote:

While this is the biggest crossover in the foreseeable future, Arrow will be getting an influx of Flash-y items throughout the season. “There’s a bunch of STAR Labs inventions coming their way,” Kreisberg promised.

I really hope this means we get a bunch of new trick arrows.

We need the boxing glove arrow to be in the permanent rotation

Speaking of Cisco... I'm wondering if Vibe and Killer Frost will make appearances on Flash this season.

Amell's cousin has already made a pre-Firestorm appearance and has done his CGI for Firestorm... so he should be showing up in the 2015 episodes.

a-hole cancelled his nola comic con appearance. so pissed.

but to get to tedocks post: i like a lot of what people are saying. ive said it before, but the show seems to have a really good grip on how to deal with Laurel. they know the realistic problems with promoting her and seem to be doing it right. cheers to them for not jumping the shark with her.

with Oliver being MIA, i dont think its a time jump. I think it probably has to do with Oliver taking on Ra's.

i think the Flash show gives plausibility to Arrow taking on metahumans if they so choose to do that. im really shocked they never brought back Solomon Grundy after they did a perfect set up for him.

Yea im starting to rethink my time skip theory. I think the usual one month will pass between episodes 9 and 10 and Laurel will learn trial by fire.

I would also be willing to bet money that we see Solomon Grundy again.

I was setting my expectations low for Grundy, but if they're going to tackle Grodd I'm thinking that we might see an awesome Grundy as well.

i dont see Grundy as that far fetched since they set him up realistically last season. they introduced cyrus gold and had mirikuru fall all over him, even after he was pumped with it.

I was expecting Cyrus Gold to show up with a little zombie makeup and that would be it. If they're going to introduce a mind-controlling gorilla as a character... now I'm hopeful for the full comic book Grundy.

I never really understood the showrunners' initial reluctance to have metahumans on Arrow. I mean they are in the same universe, and they are doing crossovers. So why not leave the possibility open for metahumans to crossover to Arrow? I'm glad they are open to it now.

And I thought how they portrayed Laurel's first attempt at being a vigilante was pretty darn good (and admittedly I got a satisfyingly chuckle out of it). As long as they continue to go that route with her, I think they'll make her character's transformation believable (and hopefully we'll get to see her get her arse handed to her a few more times).

I always assumed it was budget issues but maybe they just didn't think a vanilla human (however insanely skilled) could take on metahumans.

I think the best thing they can do for Laurels character is to hurry up and make her BC, just get it over with. Then kind of take a lot the focus off of her and just let her go about trying to be a vigilante. Her biggest problem is that she hasnt been able to come down from these emotional highs since Tommy died and that shite gets old.

Similar to the comics. You wouldn't have too many superpowered villains in the Batman titles. A Clayface or Man-Bat here and there... but the majority are non-powered.

People are already upset with Flash taking on low-power villains. Imagine the response if Oliver was taking down villains like Professor Zoom and Black Adam with arrows.

I'd expect a majority of non or low-powered villains on Arrow, with the occasional big gun metahuman showing up.
