I don't think you can pin this on ST. Our defense rarely has 3 and outs, which is gonna cost you field position throughout the game.
The most obvious problem this team has is turnovers, giving them up and creating them. If that stat alone changes, we are easily a playoff team.

When the stat says 40 yard avg on opp drives your getting the ball back deep. Period.
Of course not having a automatic fair catch(Byrd) may improve this a little but we need a few 3 and outs.
