He led the freshman team at Parkway to an 8-2 record in 2010. That same team — without Harris — lost every game as seventh- and eighth-graders.
“You take a team that hadn’t won a game in two years and they win all but two, that shows you the leadership ability,” Hill said. “He has the ability to get a team to rally behind. He has an infectious personality. People love to be around him. That’s what you look for in a quarterback.”

Parkway was terrible for a long, long time too

I covered high school ball last year and the year before. I watched Parkway play.
For Harris to have brought that team, with that offensive line to a state title is nothing short of a miracle. The kid was constantly running for his life.

I have been overly impressed with this young man, not only in his play, but the way he carries himself and the way he speaks. The future is bright with BH.

Harris used Skype to chat with Nick Saban. Feaster called him a “boring” person.

We'll see if the whole team rallies around him Saturday night. As special as He might be, the defense will have to step up big time to pull out a win. Anyway, I'm excited to watch this kid over the next 2-3 years.

Harris’ spinning of the football is a characteristic coach Les Miles compares to former LSU quarterback and No. 1 draft pick JaMarcus Russell.
“It’s called hand talent,” the coach said.

Great article. Harris is exactly the kind of guy we want on this team.

Harris reminds me of Rohan. Not in his motion or play really, but in the way the guys and even fans seem to rally around him. There hasn't been a QB at LSU that seemed to command that kind of respect since him. There have been great QB's, but most have lead merely by example and didn't seem to pull players along with him.
Harris seems to do that. That alone has me excited about the kid.
My BIGGEST hope is that LSU fans sit this one out, though. For once, allow a kid to mature, make mistakes and grow without either overly praising him to where there is no reasonable place to go but down, or throw him under the bus the first time things go bad...because there will be some bad. Harris seems to have not only the tool set but the demeanor AND the pieces around him to help lead some special seasons...can we all agree not to break him right out of the gate?

I know it's reasonable to temper expectations for a freshman qb, but i really think this kid is different.
his talent is off the charts... I think it's entirely possible that he makes a lot of headlines this weekend.

My point is, tempering expectation is ALWAYS a good thing. Allow him to mature without blowing him or trashing him.
Cheer for him and the team. If he has a great game, don;t feel the need to project out the titles and individual awards he'll win. If he has a rough game, don't start looking for option #3. In short, our fans need to behave as maturely as Harris seems to be himself.
I agree...I have a great feeling about Young Brandon! But this isn't my first year following LSU, and I've seen the way LSU fans have behaved since 2001. It's either hyperbolic praise or catastrophe syndrome. There is almost nothing in between.
I realize it's a pipe dream, but for once it would be nice to watch a young man be allowed to mature at his own speed without us trying our best to frick him up.
The funny thing is that anyone would have an issue with that...

Especially since he played for Parkway.

Those of us who follow recruiting knew that we were getting a great one. I didn't, however, expect him to have this opportunity so early on. I am very excited for the young man!
