What do they do about paying all the parade performers when a parade gets cancelled cause of weather? It rains all the time during the summer. Do they tell them to clock out and go home? Pay them a little extra, or guarantee full pay regardless of cancellation or not?
It's got to really suck for those guys to have to commit show up 2 hours early most everyday of the week, get ready and then be told to go home and not get paid what you thought you'd make.

I did, but I never performed in a parade.

Most of them have multiple roles so they can probably pitch in elsewhere. They make work the parade, but also perform in various other shows or whatever throughout the park.

I know they don't pay you shite. Girl I know had to leave before her internship was over because of bills. JC must be sitting on a bank roll.

I read some article a couple of years ago basically accusing Disney of slave labor. Foreigners would be brought in by sort of a pimp type guy, house them in some flop house and work them until the visas or work permits ran out, then repeat with a new crew. Don't know if it had merit or not. My nephew worked there parking cars last summer.

I used to sell ice cream at epcot. I think most of the performers are salaried so they get paid no matter what. It rains a lot during the summer but not for very long so the parades are rarely canceled.

I have a friend that used to work as contractor for their IT systems. He had a very nice 6 figure salary at 25 years of age. He lived in Celebration.

Did you live in the intern dorms? I have always heard they were an awesome place for hookups, allegedly....

No idea, but we marched in one of those parades when I was a HS band geek. We went through the tunnels under WDW. It was pretty interesting.

Yeah, these seasonal jobs pretty much pay employees shite and often screw them over. They rely on people who are looking for a fun experience/escape. Even with low pay and shitty treatment, people still flock to them for work.
