I think we can all agree that stupidity reigned on this one.

If someone wanted to paint something on my place of business that's makes it worth $500k more and brings visitors, I wouldn't call him a vandal.

I suppose consent doesn't matter to some then. What if someone doesn't care for his political views sprayed on their property?

i can see why it would piss people off, but banksy is awesome and I would love to have his graffati on my garage or something. heck, we looked into getting street art painted onto our garage. The guy wanted $2k to do it though, which we thought as a tad high.

your personal preference is irrelevant.
if you touch me and i dont want you to, its assault - regardless of the level (or lack thereof) of harm you inflict.
if you deface my property without consent, its vandalism.

I looked into getting it in my condo but same deal - way too expensive and I also couldn't settle on a subject matter. Wound up getting a huge arse projection TV instead for about half the price

So, most people get it, but because a few sandy buttholes complained, it gets removed. Kind of reminds me of the Redskins situation.

Council spokesman says Banksy is welcome to return any time to do an "appropriate" work.

Dude sounds like a high school principal. Yeah. Good luck with that.

fricking love Banksy's work, but split over the whole vandalism issue. I'm not sure if I'd call something vandalism when it doubles or triples the value is the property.

I know what your trying to say but not everyone likes every piece of "art" in the world at the same level.

I personally am not a fan.

Lemme take a wild guess and say that you don't have an HOA.

it doesn't say who was offended. It might have been the nativists.

Banksy is one of those things that semi-cultured white people pretend to love because all the cool people do.
