Am I the only one who thought this could be the plot for the justice league film since so many are being introduced in the batman v superman movie? It could make Aquaman cool if done right.

Looks like the same studio as Justice League: War.

This is somewhat based off of "The Enemy Below" episode of the Justice League animated show. The difference though, is that in the show Aquaman was actually leading the charge against the land. At least initially.

It's actually based off of the Justice League Vol. 3 comic book of the same title. Now the comic book may have had some basis on that Justice League animated show.
